After working on motion picture projects on 4 continents this year, I'm coming back to the US to work on a short film called Hadeas. Teaming up with Writer/Director/Co-Producer Randy May and a team of familiar co-conspirators is enough to drive across the country for.

The above Kickstarter video was shot by Randy May, Scott Crozier, Heather Holt and myself in Merced, CA, Randy's hometown. The Kicksterter video shoot doubled as a location scouting trip, which came in handy. We were able to experience the particular quality of light that graces the tall grass of the rolling hills around central California. What a great place to shoot a movie.

An amazing opportunity for me as an artist was to create the music for the Hadeas Kickstarter video. Originally we had discussed a composer as we talked about the edit. I, however, find it difficult to edit something that will eventually have music without that music present. So I decided to create my own temp tracks. Ukulele, Bodhran and a few microphones later and the soundtrack to the short video is what happened. A great opportunity to create something purely from my imagination that people will hear and react to.
Part of the fun of this film is the concept art. We can't help but be collaborative in our method, so including a fine artist in the storyboarding process made sense. This way the director and I can collaborate with another visual artist and bounce ideas around about how the audience will experience the story.
Below are samples of the concept art that has been completed. The charcoal drawings are done by Mark Kopitzke.
